St Patrick's Day Irish Festival

On Saturday 10 March, the girls and I set out for King George Square in Brisbane for the annual St Pat's Day Irish Festival. You see, for some reason, Emma has a"thing" for Irish dancing and is always jumping around the lounge room to Celtic music (care of my mother!), Lord of the Dance style. So, I thought it would be nice for her to actually see the real thing. We had an early start, jumping on a train at Wacol for a half hour trip into the CBD. A quick walk down Adelaide Street and we were there. Luckily, we were early and didn't have to wait for the free face painting or jumping castle. After morning tea and obliqatory ice cream break, the concert started. Emma got a good spot down the front and was transfixed. A bit more of a look around and then it was back to the train station. It was a good day out and the girls enjoyed the train ride. We all slept well that night!

"Are we there yet?!"

Even Lucy got face painting!

Face painting is not complete without a rainbow.

Luck of the Irish.

Irish dancers...

...more Irish dancers.

"YUM! Ice cream!"
